GRAPHITE CRUCIBLE FOR KERR ELECTRO-MELT AND SMALL AUTO-MELT 30 OZ CAPACITY
This lathe machined graphite crucible, was designed specifically for Kerr Electromelts (Kerr part number 29-478).
Made of high grade fine grain graphite to provide optimum performance and durability.
Graphite provides maximum resistance to oxidation while metal is being melted. To avoid contamination use separate crucible for each metal.

Capacity 30 Troy Ounces or 1 Kg.
Inside Dimensions: 1-1/4" Diameter x 3-1/2" Deep
Outside Dimensions: 1-1/2" Diameter x 4-3/4" Long
Lip: 2-1/4" Diameter x 7/8" High
The bottom of the crucible is equipped with 1/2" opening to fit thermocouple for precise temperature measurement. This assures that molten metal is not over or under cooked and extends longevity of the heating element.
The crucible is equipped with pouring spout, which allows molten metal to be poured out of the crucible without removing the crucible from electromelt thus shortening transition period and assuring more uniform consistency of the molten metal prior to solidification.
Note: Before using a crucible for the first time, the crucible must be preheated slowly. This gently removes moisture, the crucible has absorbed. Failure to preheat, will result in flaking/cracking/contamination of melted metals. Use Boric Acid to coat inner walls of graphite crucible to reduce graphite grain penetration of molten metal.
